Chat Club with Günther Oettinger
Günther Oettinger is an exceptional politician who looks back on a long and successful career. He is one of the few German politicians who have made the transition from state to European politician in a short period of time.
At the age of 14, he joined the Junge Union and in the following years became a member of parliament, parliamentary group leader and finally Minister President in Baden-Württemberg. He then spent almost ten years as an EU Commissioner in Brussels.
After retiring from active politics in 2019 - after almost four decades - he has moved into the consulting business with Oettinger Consulting.
In the Chat Club, the podcast of the London Speaker Bureau, Günther Oettinger talks about his life after politics and many other things.
How does he fill his newly found time? And which friendships shaped his political career? How did he experience the time after the fall of the Berlin Wall? And what is the Andean Pact all about?
His much commented English skills and his handling of shitstorms are also topics of the conversation.
You can look forward to an open conversation with Günther Oettinger.
