Shimon Stein is a former Israeli diplomat and was Israel's ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany from 2001 to 2007.
Since leaving the diplomatic service, Stein has been a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) at Tel Aviv University. He also works as a consultant and author on foreign and security policy issues and is a much sought-after speaker on topics relating to Israel and the Middle East.
